If the ignition switch is left on without the engine running, a Powerspark ignition kit automatically prevents the coil circuit from remaining energised, helping to avoid component damage and battery drain."
By comparison, a conventional points distributor left with the ignition switched on, and the points closed will continuously draw around 4 amps, overheating the coil and flattening the battery within a few hours. A Powerspark system, however, draws only around 25 milliamps when left on, meaning it could theoretically remain powered for several weeks without flattening the battery, while causing no damage to the coil.

The D10 distributor is for A+Plus (A Plus) Engines only and will not fit the A-Series Engines (A Minus). Check your existing distributors drive

The Lucas 59D distributor was used in the Mini from 1982 onwards in A Plus engines.

It is is suitable for any vehicle that uses the Lucas 59D 4 Cylinder Distributor, such as the Austin Metro and Allegro, as well as some Morris vehicles. 

Our 59D is available as an electronic, negative earth. This distributor is fitted with a vacuum advance, as it was from the factory.

All of our distributors have been developed to run on modern fuel, with a modern advance curve giving them a wide universal fitment.

The 998cc and 1275cc have an advance curve specifically developed to run well in those engines when used in a Mini or Metro.
