A split or missing track rod boot can quickly lead to failure of the track rod end ball joint introducing play into the steering. Deterioration of the rubber boot can be more rapid when the car is stored for long periods, with the boot hardening and becoming brittle particularly if red rubber grease has not been applied to protect the boot from drying out. We have this replacement track rod end boot, manufactured from neoprene (also known as polychloroprene rubber) for enhanced resistance to oil, heat and weathering.
