Stainless Steel Heat Shield  S.U HS2 twin Carburetors -  Polished Stainless Steel  GAC6610X

Protect your SU Carburettors from heat that Radiates from the Exhaust manifold or Extractors using this Polished Stainless Steel Heat Shield

The pictured unit is designed for use on Twin SU HS2 carburettors as fitted to the 1296cc (1300) engine on the Triumph Spitfire and some Triumph Heralds

The Heatshield should be fitted on the Carburettor side of the Phenolic Block on the Manifold.

Note that the fitment may require some adjustment of the shield, particularly if you have the older style mechanical / lever Accelerator Linkages. Dependant up[on the routing of your fuel lines you may also have to grind a few notches to make sure the lines are not fouling the sharp edges of the Heat Shield.

Some people feel that it may also be beneficial to curve the lower edges of the Shield to provide extra protection for the carburettor float bowls from heat radiation, but we have not found this necessary on our 1967 Triumph Spitfire MK3.

Note that the grey protective film on the Stainless Heat shield should be removed prior to installation. This shield covers the highly reflective mirror surface of the Heat Shield.

A pleasing addition to your engine bay once you have completed the install.

As fitted to:

Triumph Spitfire  All Models that are fitted a 1296 cc Engine and with the Twin HS2 SU Carburettors
