Rover V8 Distributor For Rover V8 Engines Late 1976  (Replaces Lucas 35D V8)

This Powerspark 35D V8 Distributor is a direct replacement for the Lucas 35D or 35DLM8 V8 Distributor.
We offer this for all types of Rover V8 engine, see below for details.

If the ignition switch is left on without the engine running, a Powerspark ignition kit automatically prevents the coil circuit from remaining energised, helping to avoid component damage and battery drain."
By comparison, a conventional points distributor left with the ignition switched on, and the points closed will continuously draw around 4 amps, overheating the coil and flattening the battery within a few hours. A Powerspark system, however, draws only around 25 milliamps when left on, meaning it could theoretically remain powered for several weeks without flattening the battery, while causing no damage to the coil.

It is a brand new casting complete and pre-fitted with Powerspark Electronic Ignition for 'plug and play' fitment.
Comes complete with a Powermax rotor arm, improved over the original by using a moulded design instead of a rivet.

The Lucas 35D V8 was used for many years in vehicles that used the Rover V8 engine. Your Rover V8 engine is either classed as early or late, which dictates which drive gear the distributor utilises

We offer two different distributors for the Rover V8 engine depending on if it is Early or Late:
Early model up to 1976 D29-Powerspark
Later model 1976 onwards is the D2-Powerspark

This unit is wired for NEGATIVE EARTH vehicles
Note the Wire on the L10-Long can be Black or White

We recommend the use of a DLB198 Coil which is rated at 1.00 Ohms or lower for this Distributor. Higher Ohm rated Ignition Coils can damage the Module over time.
We further recommend that the additional Lucar terminal on the side of this distributor be attached to a securely grounded (earth) wire on the vehicle.
